Relationship with our members are built by positive encounters. During times like this, effective communication will be the key to maintaining relationships with our members. A great way to engage with our members is through Social Media and E-Newsletters.

A great function of both these resources is that they deliver the information straight to your membership without them needing to go searching for it on your website. Even if your member doesn’t open their E-newsletter they are reminded of the club by seeing it in their inbox.

Below are some tips to use with your E-newsletters
  • Write a Great Subject Line
About 47% of email recipients open an email based on the subject line alone.
Subscribers get bored easily. Use a variety of subject lines to keep their interest.
  • Personalize your emails
Engagement is much higher when you personalize the subject line to your members name. Research has found that personalization improves open rates by 14%  But how to make your email newsletter more personal?
There are several ways; one of them is addressing the guest by his or her first name, for example saying “Hi Mark!”, before going into the body text.
  • Use the Right Email Template
In addition, you will want to make sure that your email looks great on mobile. With more than half of all email opened on mobile devices, you’ll need to go for responsive email design templates that resize images and text according to the screen where they’re displayed.
  • Keep Text Short
With an email newsletter, your goal is to get them out of their inboxes and onto your website.
  • Use imagery that represents your club
People want to see content that relates to them, rather than using the top sporting star. Why not use pictures of club members to promote your products, events etc. Just make sure you gain their permission before sharing their image.
  • Use videos rather than text.
This is important for the younger generation. Social media sites like snapchat, tik tok and Instagram have become huge by sharing video content rather than words. All you need to do is use a phone and simply upload to your platform.
  • Tone
When writing your newsletter think of who your audience is. Are you writing to them as a client, or are you writing to them as a friend? Try using a more conversational tone rather than a formal tone when writing your content.
  • What’s in it for me?
It is important that we are offering all our readers something for them. Make sure we are not just writing about our winners but also using content that inspires all parts of your membership.
